Maiora 42 Exuma: The Renaissance of Living at Sea

In the setting of the Maiora Deck Lounge, recently renovated and a symbol of the Viareggio shipyard, the 42 Exuma was unveiled, a 42-meter yacht that redefines the standards of luxury yachting. The Maiora design merges with the vision of Giorgio Maria Cassetta for the exterior lines and with the refined universe of ELIE SAAB for the interiors.

Maiora 42 Exuma: The Renaissance of Living at Sea

Viareggio, 10 July 2025 – MAIORA, a brand of Next Yacht Group, unveils the new 42 Exuma, conceived to transform the onboard experience and place the pleasure of living at sea at the center. The yacht was born from careful observation of daily life on board and from listening to the real needs of Owners and guests. Surpassing traditional conventions — from guest cabins relegated to lower decks to central saloons often underused — the design also rethinks the upper deck, transforming it into an exclusive space for the Owner, free from cohabitation with technical areas and operational pathways, enhancing privacy and comfort.

Every space is designed for a human-centered experience, breaking classical schemes and returning the yacht to its role as the true protagonist of the maritime experience.
The presentation took place in the new Deck Lounge in Viareggio, recently renovated, an iconic space designed to welcome Owners in an elegant environment. The 800 mq lounge offers an immersive experience, with cutting-edge technological solutions and digital tools designed to make every encounter memorable.

Design and Project
The Maiora 42 Exuma is the result of collaboration between the MAIORA team, Giorgio Maria Cassetta, and ELIE SAAB. The shipyard developed a new concept of onboard living, with exterior lines by Cassetta and interiors by ELIE SAAB, expressing timeless refinement.
With a length of 42 meters, a beam of 8,90 meters, and speeds up to 30 knots with the most powerful engines, the yacht spans four decks and accommodates up to 12 guests in the Owner’s suite and four VIP cabins on the main deck. The crew has five cabins for nine members. Interiors are bright thanks to large glass surfaces, with wide and continuous spaces distributed across the decks, while foldable terraces connect the main and upper decks. The open-space lounge on the upper deck offers unobstructed views along the entire length of the yacht, from bow to stern.

Exterior Lines
The exterior lines by Cassetta Yacht Designers introduce a concept of dynamism with sleek surfaces and fluid proportions. Large glass panels create continuity between interior and exterior, enhancing natural light and the connection with the sea. The architecture aims for a balance between form and function, with an elegant silhouette that evokes speed even at anchor.
“The 42 Exuma project started quickly, with a clear idea of creating a high-performance gentleman’s yacht. We sought a balance between lightness, interior volume, and generous heights while maintaining clean lines. The main innovation concerns the layout: guest cabins are on the main deck, while the upper deck and sun deck are entirely dedicated to guests, with transparent spaces and innovative shapes like the infinity deck at the bow,” — Giorgio Maria Cassetta.

Interiors
The interiors, curated by ELIE SAAB under the creative direction of Carlo Colombo, combine pieces from the Maison collection with bespoke elements designed for life at sea. Materials such as Fumo di Londra and Mystic Ocean marble, teak wood, and bronzed mirrors ensure elegance and durability.
“The collaboration with Maiora expands the ELIE SAAB lifestyle into the nautical world. The 42 Exuma translates our craftsmanship and aesthetic refinement into immersive, elegant, and functional spaces, setting a new standard for luxury at sea,” — Elie Saab Jr., CEO ELIE SAAB Group.

Main Deck
The main deck hosts the master suite and four VIP cabins, with generous spaces and natural light. The layout allows a clear separation between guest and crew areas, with the possibility of installing a panoramic elevator. The cockpit features two levels and a large breakfast area, while water toys are stored beneath the sunpad. The helm station is separated from the main salon to ensure privacy and comfort.

Lower Deck and Crew Areas
The lower deck is almost entirely dedicated to services and the crew, with five cabins, a crew mess, laundry, pantry, dumbwaiter, and multifunctional spaces. Garage, gym, and media room complete the facilities. External spaces allow the crew to move without interfering with guests, ensuring efficiency and privacy.

Upper Deck and Sun Deck
The upper deck is dedicated to relaxation, featuring a fully glazed panoramic lounge, rear-integrated pool, and foldable terraces. At the bow, a motorized sunpad tracks the sun throughout the day. The 80 mq sun deck provides a reserved open-air area, fully customizable, with uninterrupted horizon views.

Engines
The 42 Exuma offers two options:
1. 2 × Volvo Penta IPS 40 (max speed 20 knots, cruising 16 knots)
2. 3 × MTU 2600 hp with MJP waterjets (max speed 30 knots, cruising 26 knots)
The first unit has already been sold, with delivery expected in Summer 2027. Every detail reflects an innovative approach that places the human experience at the center, redefining livability, comfort, and functionality on board.
